2011 Shakespeare Summer Camp Application

Camp Dates: July 18-22, 2011
Camp Hours: 9am til 5pm

The camp is for children entering grades 3-9.

Students in this camp will be involved in exercises designed to hone there acting abilities, engage them with Shakespeare's language, learn from stage combat, and much more. They will also work on a scene from one of the plays which they will preform on the last day of camp!

The first for days of the camp is spent experiencing a different play. Past plays studied have been A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing and Henry IV, Part One. On the last day of the camp we hold a Shakespeare Festival which includes performances of scenes from a selected play, and insult tournament, and other Shakespeare-related activities.

Counselors for the Shakespeare Summer Camp are past and present members of The Rude Mechanicals Shakespeare troupe. The camp Director is Shakespeare Factory Artistic Director Tom Delise.

Camp fee is $150 if paid before the registration deadline (July 8,2011).
    * A late fee of $10 is added for each camper if paid after the deadline.
